Description

I recently watched a documentary on the Liberty Ships from World War 2, and long story short, those ships reminded me a lot of these locomotives. Oddly enough, I even saw a few shots of these guys being loaded onto those ships.

Now what did the S160s and the Liberty Ships have in common with each other? Well...
***
*They were both built in America during WW2.
*Both were simple and cheap designs, not much going for them in that regards.
*Both were mass produced, over 2,000 built, they could be built at a rate faster than they could be destroyed.
*Both did have significant problems, as they were rushed designs, mainly due to wartime demands, which is excusable.
*Most importantly, both were built to help supply-starved Britain, they picked up where destroyed trains/sunken ships left off.
*Both went on to serve as civilian machines across the globe after the war.

So yeah, what the Liberty Ships took across the Atlantic, the S160s took over inland.
